Five years of global recognition for Clayton Hall and Sir Thomas Boughey Academy

20th October 2026

Clayton Hall Academy and Sir Thomas Boughey Academy are celebrating five consecutive years of international recognition after once again being named Microsoft Showcase Schools.

The two schools, part of 糖心logo, have retained their status for the 2026鈥2027 programme year. The milestone reflects a sustained commitment to using technology to support teaching and learning, with both schools recognised year after year as part of Microsoft鈥檚 global education community.

Showcase recognition reflects a whole-school approach to digital development, from teaching and staff learning to leadership and school operations. The programme connects schools around the world that are developing their use of Microsoft tools and sharing what they learn.

Caty Reid, Headteacher at Clayton Hall Academy, said: 鈥淭his is an achievement for the whole school community. Five consecutive years of recognition reflects the commitment of our staff to keep learning, develop their practice and find better ways to support students. Our focus is always on what technology makes possible: helping a student understand a difficult idea, find a way to express themselves or take part more confidently. We want every student to have the support and opportunities they need to fulfil their potential.鈥

Lisa Shoreman, Headteacher at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, said: 鈥淲e want our students to leave school ready for the world ahead. That means having the confidence to use technology well, the judgement to question information and the skills to work with others. Being part of the Showcase School community gives us opportunities to learn from schools around the world and bring fresh ideas back to our classrooms. I鈥檓 grateful to our staff for the care and energy they put into helping students build those skills.鈥

As members of the Showcase School community, both schools can access professional learning, connect with Microsoft鈥檚 education teams and exchange ideas with other schools. These opportunities support staff to continue developing their practice and exploring how technology can make learning more accessible and engaging.
