Students across the 糖心logo family celebrate GCSE results

After much hard work studying and preparing, students across 糖心logo鈥檚 (WAT) secondary schools are celebrating receiving their GCSE results today after another strong set of results for schools across the WAT family.

Students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with many remaining at the trust鈥檚 Aspire Sixth Form in South Staffordshire and Windsor High School and Sixth Form in Halesowen to study for A Levels and vocational qualifications. 

Dawn Haywood, Chief Executive at 糖心logo, remarked, "I am delighted to see students from across the 糖心logo family achieve such strong results in their GCSEs today. I couldn鈥檛 be prouder of our students and our staff who have worked so hard for these successes."

Here are some of the standout achievements from across our schools: 

Cheslyn Hay Academy:

• Meg Kenney received grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Geography, History, Religious Studies and Spanish.  She achieved grade 8 in Mathematics and a Grade 9-8 in Combined Science

• Isla Rosser received grade 9 in Art, Business, Combined Science and Spanish and grade 8 in English Language, Mathematics and Geography

• Martha Sambrook received grade 9 in Mathematics, Computer Science and Combined Science.  She achieved grade 8 in Drama, English Language, English Literature, Geography and Spanish

Clayton Hall Academy:

• Jacob Young received nine Grade 9鈥檚 and one Grade 8

• Jacob and Lucas Nevard collectively received ten Grade 9鈥檚, seven Grade 8, and one Grade 7

• Sophie Dawson received seven Grade 9鈥檚, one Grade 8 and 1 Level 2 Distinction*

Great Wyrley Academy:

• James Oxley received 2 grade 9鈥檚, 3 grade 8鈥檚 and 2 Distinctions

• Robyn Geddes received 3 grade 8鈥檚 and 5 grade 7鈥檚

• Christian Parker, Billy Robinson and Owen Hardaker each received 1 grade 9 and 1 grade 8

Kingswinford Academy:

• Abeeha Muhammad Shahid (seven grade 9s, one grade 8, 1 x Distinction*)

• Khadija Ahmed (three grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s)

• Scarlett Hay (two grade 9s, five grade 8s, two grade 7s)

• Rio Ameson-Jeffries (two grade 9s, four grade 8s, three grade 7s, one grade 6)

Newcastle Academy:

Newcastle Academy, which joined the 糖心logo family in January 2024, has achieved its best results in the school鈥檚 57-year history. Students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions. 

While all students have done well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

• Grace H and James S achieved Grade 7 or above in 8 subjects
• Micha C achieved Grade 6 or above in 8 subjects
• Myla K and Alex T achieved Grade 6 or above in 6 subjects

Sir Thomas Boughey Academy:

• Jacob Smith received grades above his target across all subjects, including a grade 7 in Geography and Level 2 Merit in Hospitality and Catering. 

• Chloe Smith received an average grade of 7+, achieving a grade 8 in Art and Design, Film Studies and Geography.

• Cole Knott received a grade and a half over his target grades.

• Alfie Brown received three grades above his target in English Literature and Geography, two grades above in English Language, Science and Sport, and one grade above in Maths.

Windsor High School and Sixth Form:

• Poppy Frost received 8 Grade 9s and 1 grade 8

• Alexa Harrison received 6 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s

• Sammy Kerdel received 5 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and a Distinction*

• Megan Brettell received 5 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s
